Safety
SAFETY FIRST.
StormNet is not an official meteorological service, not an emergency service and not a replacement for official warnings. Risk assessments are estimations of probability and can be wrong in both directions.
During dangerous weather
- Follow the warnings of your national weather service and local authorities.
- Call your local emergency number in an emergency — not the app.
- Seek shelter in the lowest interior room, away from windows.
- Do not chase storms to produce reports for the network.
What the risk levels mean
A high risk value means the analysed conditions are favourable for severe weather. It does not mean a tornado has formed. A low value does not guarantee safety.
About emergency reports
Emergency events and tornado turning reports are created by users. They are not verified, not confirmed by authorities and may be inaccurate or delayed. Treat them as additional information only.
